Taking a cue from Bruce Gallemore's thoughtful message with SBHS memorabilia the other day, here is the slide show that I put together back in 2017 for the 50th Reunion at Langley's Restaurant! I hope that it will play on this page! Enjoy! These are photos compiled from 4 years of 'Crosiers' and 'The Shield' that appeared during our sojourn on Broad Street, New London. SBHS '67 Memorabilia Shared by Bruce Gallemore

We received a message from our classmate Bruce Gallemore tonight, along with some SBHS Memorabilia to share. He regrets that he is unable to join us on Thursday but, he has given his permission to share the artifacts with you here. Thank you, Bruce!

Here is his message: "I have made an iCloud library of some of my SBHS memorabilia. Not sure you will be able to share it at the reunion but here it is. Many thrills of yesteryear: news report of a crushing SBHS tennis defeat at NFA, Minutes of a March 1966 Legion of Mary meeting, a rare photo of the coveted SBHS Varsity Scholastic letter, prom tickets, graduation announcements, talent show program, honor roll list, much more …

I also saved much of my homework from Brother Bernard’s Chemistry class. I’ll save that for a future get-together.

August 22, 2024 Get Together Update

Hi All,

OK, folks, we are a little more than two weeks away from our Get Together on August 22, 2024 at The Social in New London. We would like to get a 'ball park' idea of how many guests will be in attendance, so that we can alert the venue. They can then ensure that they have sufficient staff, menu items, etc., on hand to accommodate our group. We are scheduled to gather at 12:30pm, and The Social will have a full bar and menu available, as well as both indoor and outdoor seating, weather permitting.

So, 1) if you are planning to attend, or if you think you may be able to attend, please let us know by responding to this message, or shooting me an email. No pressure, and we are not asking for an official RSVP or a firm commitment, but it will be most helpful in determining a 'range' of how many to expect. Thank you in advance!

2) Margery Lacey-Tal has offered fun suggestion for the occasion: Got any SBHS memorabilia laying around? Bring it, whether it be a class ring, your old blazer or letter sweater, if it fits (I'm looking at YOU, Mimi! ;)), photos, Crosiers, The Shield newspaper, name tags (always helpful after 57 years, btw!), event programs (football games, dances, plays), etc. No pressure but.... if ya got 'em, bring 'em!

The SBHS '67 Reunion Committee is pleased to announce that, at long last, we have a consensus for the 2024 Summer Get Together:  

Date:  Thursday, August 22, 2024

Time:  Lunch 12:30 pm

Venue:  The Social, 208 Bank Street, New London

This is a great venue which we used a couple of years ago for a September Get Together.  Dining and cocktails are available both indoors and on their outdoor patio overlooking New London Harbor, so weather will not be a factor.  And, as a Lunchtime event, this will give some of the folks who have not been able to attend our evening events the opportunity to join us.

Lighthouse Inn Gathering, August 27, 2023

OK, folks.I think that it is safe to say that our Get Together yesterday at Lighthouse Inn was a SUCCESS! We had 50 people present, including spouses and friends, the spirit was lively and positive, the food was great, and the company was marvelous! Thanks to everyone who made it such a great event, and we hope to include even more next time! In addition to all the folks who attended, we also received numerous messages from classmates who were unable to attend but wished us well, and were with us in spirit! So thank you all!
