Holiday Event at On The Waterfront: December 29, 2019

Despite a few last minute cancellations due to illness, etc. (Tis the Season!) we had a great turnout yesterday for the last SBHS '67 Reunion event of the year at On The Waterfront Restaurant, Pequot Avenue, New London. Cameras were again an afterthought to the food, fun and conversation, so Margery Lacey-Tal managed to escape before we could get her presence recorded for posterity! But we are working on that, right Joe? ;) The group made a unanimous decision to hold another Beach Bash toward the end of next summer, with the date still to be decided! So stay tuned for that "Save-The-Date" Announcement. We plan to have a couple of other warm weather get togethers next spring/summer, also. Holiday Greetings From Fran Connors and Charlie Hennegan!

I received a very nice note this week from Fran Connors, in response to the December 29 event. He and Mary are unable to attend, but look forward to future events next summer! I especially wanted to pass along this excerpt from his email regarding his recent visit with Charlie Hennegan out in San Diego. Charlie had some health issues last year, you may recall, but he appears to be recovering well!

"Last month Mary and I spent a week in San Diego with Charlie Hennegan, including a day at the races at Del Mar race track. See attached photo that includes Charlie and Fran, along with Charlie's sister, Patti, who also lives in San Diego, and is a 1966 grad of SBHS as you may recall.

We had a great time with Charlie, who's as sharp, funny and cool as ever. I filled him in on the party at 904 Beach last August and, if you schedule a similar event next summer it's on his radar screen. I definitely plan to be there and will also encourage him to attend."

SBHS '67 Holiday Get Together 2019!

Hi All!

It is that time of year again!

After the most chaotic Reunion Committee meeting/party EVER --- and that is saying something, believe me, (right, Jane Cavanaugh)! --- we have come up with a venue and a date for a little Holiday Get Together to keep the Spirit of SBHS '67 alive! The last get together in August at Barbara's beach was a rousing success, so we hope to keep that momentum going!

I should note that we are grateful to Jack and Jackie Carr for hosting us last Friday for the Reunion Committee meeting/party! While the committee meeting piece was chaos, the rest of the party was a smashing success with food, drink and even live music!

OK, OK, the party was chaos too, but it was FUN chaos, as we did our level best to provide some Holiday cheer to Jack to help with his recovery from recent back surgery! Jack even led an impromptu sing-along, playing his giant stand up bass, with Jimmy Dinoto leading the singing! Great fun!

We hope that you will come join us for a some SBHS Memories and some Holiday Cheer at the newly re-opened "On the Waterfront" restaurant for a little Sunday afternoon cheer!

N.B. 'On the Waterfront" is the old Chuck's Steak House on Pequot Avenue in New London.
